Meri Elena

Meri Elena is a North Carolina native and lifelong bibliophile.  She started writing "seriously" in fourth grade.  Her first published story, the horror novelette Anew came out as a Kindle e-book in the summer of 2012.  The e-book short story collection These Four Walls followed in October of 2013.

She has won a Figment.com short story contest and been a finalist for another. Her essay on vampire mythology and the psychology of fear was selected for print in Teen Ink magazine.  Meri's current project, first begun in fifth grade, is the Brunswick Prophecies Series.  The first two books in the series, Nightfall and Blood Magic, are to be published soon.

Meri attends North Carolina State University with majors in Plant Biology and Genetics and a minor in Creative Writing.  In addition to literary and academic pursuits, she spends her time in used book stores and with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  She collects Bay City Rollers memorabilia and as many cats as she can reasonably keep up with.
